Product Name:Methylprednisolone Tablets

Ingredient: Methylprednisolone

Drug Interactions:

1. Concomitant use with barbiturates, phenylbutazone, phenytoin, or rifampicin may accelerate metabolism and reduce the effects of glucocorticoids.

Key Advantages:

1.High anti-inflammatory potency.

2.Rapid oral absorption.

3.Good safety profile at recommended doses.

Adverse Reactions:

1.During the treatment process, glucocorticoid drugs may cause significant changes in fat, carbohydrate, protein and mineral metabolism, such as redistribution of body fat, muscle weakness and osteoporosis. The effective dose during treatment will inhibit the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.

2.May lead to adrenal insufficiency or atrophy after withdrawal.

3.Polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia; sodium and water retention, hypokalemia with long-term use.

4.Systemic glucocorticoids may cause cutaneous calcinosis.

5.Glucocorticoids are immunosuppressive and may delay wound healing, reduce resistance to existing infections or exacerbate infections.

6.May cause gastrointestinal ulceration, hepatomegaly, elevated liver enzymes.

Precautions:

1.Not recommended for use in pregnant dogs. Laboratory animal data indicate teratogenicity in early pregnancy and risk of premature birth or abortion in late pregnancy.

2.Systemic glucocorticoid therapy is generally contraindicated in dogs with renal disease or diabetes mellitus.

3.In bacterial infections, glucocorticoids should only be used concurrently with appropriate antimicrobial therapy.

4.Do not use in dogs with viral infections.
