Ingredient: Tilmicosin 25%

Mechanism of Action:

Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, suppressing bacterial growth (bacteriostatic effect). It concentrates in lung tissue (the primary site of respiratory infections), enhancing efficacy against pulmonary pathogens.

Key Target Pathogens:

Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp.

Gram-negative bacteria: Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica, Haemophilus parasuis, Bordetella bronchiseptica.

Mycoplasmas: Mycoplasma gallisepticum (poultry), Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (swine), Mycoplasma bovis (cattle).

Species-Specific Toxicity:

Highly toxic to horses, donkeys, and mules (even small doses cause fatal cardiac toxicity). Do not use in these species, and prevent cross-contamination of their feed/water.

Indications

Animal SpeciesPrimary Indications (Caused by Susceptible Pathogens)
Poultry (Broilers, Turkeys)– Respiratory diseases:• Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in chickens (Mycoplasma gallisepticum).• Infectious Coryza (Haemophilus paragallinarum).• Fowl Cholera (Pasteurella multocida).• Mycoplasmosis in turkeys (Mycoplasma meleagridis).- Systemic infections: Septicemia in young chicks/poults (Pasteurella, E. coli).
Swine– Respiratory diseases:• Porcine Respiratory Disease Complex (PRDC) (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis).• Atrophic Rhinitis (secondary bacterial infection, Bordetella bronchiseptica).- Other infections: Bacterial arthritis (Streptococcus suis).
Cattle (Beef/Dairy)– Respiratory diseases:• Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) in calves (Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma bovis).• Calf Pneumonia (post-weaning or transport-induced).- Udder infections: Subclinical Mastitis (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae)—administered via drinking water to lactating cows.
Sheep/Goats– Respiratory diseases:• Sheep Pneumonia (Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae).• Goat Respiratory Complex (Bordetella bronchiseptica, Mycoplasma capricolum).- Other infections: Contagious Ecthyma (secondary bacterial infection, Staphylococcus aureus).

Dosage

Animal SpeciesPurposeDosage (Based on 25% Tilmicosin Solution)Duration
Poultry (Broilers/Turkeys)Treatment/Prevention7.5–10 mg tilmicosin per kg body weight per day.For group mixing: Add 30–40 mL of 25% solution per 1000 L of drinking water (ensures all birds receive the correct dose).3–5 days
SwineTreatment/Prevention10–15 mg tilmicosin per kg body weight per day.For group mixing: Add 40–60 mL of 25% solution per 1000 L of drinking water.5–7 days
Cattle (Calves)Treatment15–20 mg tilmicosin per kg body weight per day.For group mixing: Add 60–80 mL of 25% solution per 1000 L of drinking water (ensure calves drink freely).5–7 days
Sheep/GoatsTreatment10–12.5 mg tilmicosin per kg body weight per day.For group mixing: Add 40–50 mL of 25% solution per 1000 L of drinking water.5 days

Withdrawal Periods:

Poultry (broilers/turkeys): 5–10 days (slaughter).

Swine: 14–21 days (slaughter).

Cattle: 21–28 days (slaughter); 3–5 days (milk collection for dairy cows).

Sheep/Goats: 10–14 days (slaughter); 3 days (milk collection).

Storage:

Store at 15–25°C (59–77°F) (room temperature). Avoid extreme heat (e.g., near heaters, direct sunlight) or cold (do not freeze)—freezing causes the solution to separate, and heat accelerates tilmicosin breakdown.

Light Protection: Store in a dark cabinet or storage closet.

Keep Dry: Store away from humid areas (e.g., barn waterers, manure pits). Excess moisture can corrode the container cap, leading to leakage or microbial contamination.

Seal Tightly: After each use, screw the cap on fully to prevent moisture entry and evaporation of the solution. Do not transfer the solution to other containers (risk of light exposure or cross-contamination).
