Ingredient: Salinomycin Premix 12%

Core Indications

Prevention of Coccidiosis

Target Species & Key Eimeria Strains

Animal CategorySpecific SpeciesKey Eimeria Strains Targeted
PoultryBroiler Chickens– Eimeria tenella (cecal coccidiosis, lethal)- E. acervulina (intestinal coccidiosis)- E. maxima (jejunal coccidiosis)- E. necatrix (severe intestinal damage)
PoultryTurkey Poults– Eimeria adenoeides (intestinal coccidiosis)- E. meleagrimitis (duodenal coccidiosis)
SwinePiglets (Weaned & Grow-Finish)– Eimeria scabra (intestinal coccidiosis)- E. suis (porcine coccidiosis, causes yellow diarrhea in weaned piglets)

Growth Promotion (Swine Only)

In swine (weaned piglets to grow-finish pigs), Salinomycin Premix 12% improves feed conversion efficiency (more weight gain per kg of feed) and increases average daily gain. It achieves this by: Modulating gut microflora to reduce the growth of pathogenic bacteria (e.g., Clostridium spp.) that cause digestive disorders.

Enhancing nutrient absorption (especially fats and carbohydrates) by optimizing gut epithelial function.

This indication is exclusive to swine—salinomycin is not approved as a growth promoter for poultry, ruminants, or companion animals.

Prohibited Species (Critical!)

Horses, donkeys, mules: Lethal at doses as low as 0.5 mg/kg body weight (signs: muscle tremors, colic, cardiac failure, death within 24–48 hours).

Ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats): Highly toxic; no approved use (may cause irreversible liver/kidney damage).

Egg-laying hens (layers): Not approved (may reduce egg production and cause residue accumulation in eggs).
