Indications

The 1% Nosiheptide + 3% Kitasamycin premix is a combination veterinary antibiotic preparation (streptogramin + macrolide).

Its dual active ingredients exert synergistic effects, expanding the antibacterial spectrum and enhancing efficacy. It is exclusively used in food-producing animals (not for humans) to control mixed bacterial infections and improve production performance.

1. Core Background of Active Ingredients

Before understanding indications and dosage, it is critical to clarify the roles of the two components, as their combination addresses broader pathogenic issues than single-ingredient premixes:

1% Nosiheptide:

A streptogramin antibiotic, primarily targeting Gram-positive bacteria (e.g., Clostridium perfringens, Staphylococcus), with strong efficacy against intestinal pathogens causing necrotic enteritis.

3% Kitasamycin:

A macrolide antibiotic, effective against both Gram-positive bacteria (e.g., Streptococcus, Mycoplasma) and some Gram-negative bacteria (e.g., Haemophilus), and is particularly useful for respiratory infections and mycoplasmosis.

The combination covers both intestinal and respiratory bacterial infections, making it suitable for scenarios where animals are at risk of mixed infections (common in intensive farming environments).

Intestinal diseases:

Necrotic enteritis (caused by Clostridium perfringens), bacterial diarrhea (associated with sensitive E. coli or Salmonella), and post-weaning diarrhea (PWD) in piglets.

Respiratory diseases:

Porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) secondary to sensitive bacteria (e.g., Streptococcus suis, Haemophilus parasuis), and mycoplasmosis (caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae).

Growth Promotion

Improved feed conversion rate (FCR) and weight gain in weaned piglets, growing-finishing pigs, and suckling piglets (via reducing subclinical infections).

Poultry

Intestinal diseases:

Necrotic enteritis (broilers/turkeys), bacterial enteritis (sensitive Clostridium or E. coli), and reduced mortality from gut infections.

Respiratory diseases:

Chronic respiratory disease (CRD) in chickens (caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum), infectious coryza (caused by Haemophilus paragallinarum), and secondary bacterial infections from viral diseases (e.g., Newcastle disease).
