Ingredient: Florfenicol 10%

Indications

It is indicated for acute and chronic bacterial infections caused by florfenicol-sensitive pathogens in poultry (chickens, ducks, geese) and livestock (pigs, calves).

Respiratory tract infections:

Infectious coryza (caused by Haemophilus paragallinarum), chronic respiratory disease (CRD, caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum), and secondary bacterial infections associated with viral diseases (e.g., avian influenza, Newcastle disease).

Digestive tract infections:

Bacterial enteritis (caused by Escherichia coli), pullorum disease (caused by Salmonella pullorum), and fowl typhoid (caused by Salmonella gallinarum).

Livestock (Pigs, Calves)

Porcine infections:

Porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC, caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida), post-weaning bacterial diarrhea (caused by E. coli or Salmonella choleraesuis), and secondary bacterial infections of porcine circovirus-associated diseases (PCVAD).

Calf infections:

Bacterial pneumonia (caused by Pasteurella spp.) and calf scours (bacterial-induced diarrhea, often associated with E. coli).

Critical Note: It is ineffective against viral, fungal, or parasitic infections. For accurate treatment, conduct bacterial susceptibility testing before use (if conditions permit) to avoid drug resistance.

SpeciesActive Ingredient Dosage (per kg body weight per day)Corresponding Volume of 10% Solution (per kg body weight per day)Administration MethodCourse of Treatment
Chickens/Ducks20–40 mg0.2–0.4 mLMix into drinking water; ensure all birds consume the medicated water within 4–6 hours (avoid stale water).3–5 consecutive days
Pigs15–25 mg0.15–0.25 mLMix into drinking water or feed (ensure uniform mixing to prevent uneven drug intake); for sick pigs, oral drenching is optional.5–7 consecutive days
Calves10–15 mg0.1–0.15 mLOral drenching (use a dosing syringe to avoid aspiration) or mix into milk replacer (ensure full consumption).3–5 consecutive days

Withdrawal period:

Strictly follow the product label’s withdrawal period (e.g., 5 days for chickens, 10 days for pigs, 7 days for calves) to prevent drug residues in meat/edible by-products.

Storage

Temperature:

Keep in a cool, dry place at 2–30°C; avoid high-temperature environments (e.g., near stoves, direct sunlight through windows) to prevent solvent evaporation or active ingredient decomposition.

Light protection:

Store in the original opaque packaging (e.g., brown glass bottle) to avoid light-induced degradation of florfenicol.

Moisture prevention:

Do not store in humid areas (e.g., barn cellars, near water troughs) to prevent bottle corrosion or solution turbidity.

Sealing:

After each use, tightly screw the bottle cap to prevent contamination by microorganisms or evaporation of the solution.
