Efficacy Data

Efficacy of the diluted 2.8% solution aligns with lower-concentration formulations, as the active ingredient (deltamethrin) concentration determines effectiveness, not the original product strength:

Aquatic Midge Control:

A 2021 field study in Southeast Asia tested diluted 2.8% solution (final 0.003 mg/L) in a 5-hectare reservoir. Results showed:

92–95% mortality of midge larvae within 24 hours.

No midge resurgence for 5–6 weeks, with no detectable residues in water after 7 days.

Fish Lice Treatment:

A laboratory trial (2022, Aquaculture) used diluted 2.8% solution (final 0.01 mg/L) on tilapia tanks infested with Argulus. It achieved:

100% lice mortality within 12 hours.

<5% mortality in tilapia (when dosed at 0.01 mg/L; higher concentrations caused fish stress).

Dosage

The 2.8% solution’s high concentration means dilution is mandatory before any aquatic use. Using it undiluted will result in concentrations 500–2800x higher than lethal levels for fish and invertebrates. Below are standard dilution ratios for authorized scenarios:
