Aqua Blue-Guard is a multi – functional solution designed specifically for aquaculture. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of aquatic organisms and optimizing the aquaculture environment.

Product Efficacy

Disinfection and Sterilization:

Aqua Blue-Guard has a powerful killing ability against bacteria, fungi, and some parasites in water. It has a remarkable inhibitory and killing effect on water mold, which can effectively prevent and treat water mold disease, avoiding symptoms such as white hair and ulcers on fish bodies due to water mold infection. Meanwhile, it also has a certain therapeutic effect on diseases like ichthyophthiriasis, Chilodonella disease, and red – mouth disease.

Prevention of Fish Egg Infection:

In breeding farms, Aqua Blue-Guard is often used to wash fish eggs. It can effectively prevent fish eggs from being contaminated by bacteria and fungi during the hatching process, greatly increasing the hatching rate of fish eggs.

Detoxification:

When the filtration system of the fish tank malfunctions, leading to an excessive content of harmful substances such as nitrite, which causes fish poisoning, Aqua Blue-Guard can alleviate the poisoning symptoms of fish through its reducing property. In addition, it can also be used for the detoxification of cyanide and other poisons.

Water Quality Improvement:

Aqua Blue-Guard can degrade residual impurities and algae in water, reducing water pollution and creating a clean and stable living environment for fish, thereby indirectly enhancing the physique and disease – resistance ability of fish.

Antiparasitic Effect:

Aqua Blue-Guard exhibits certain antiparasitic effects in aquaculture. It can effectively act against some common parasites in aquatic environments, such as Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (the causative agent of white spot disease) and Chilodonella. By using Aqua Blue-Guard, the number of parasites on fish bodies and in the water can be reduced, thereby alleviating the harm caused by parasitic infections to aquatic organisms. It helps to prevent symptoms like skin irritation, abnormal swimming behaviors, and decreased feeding ability that are often associated with parasitic infestations, thus promoting the overall health and growth of fish and other aquatic animals.

Mechanism of Action

Bactericidal and Bacteriostatic Mechanism:

In aqueous solution, Aqua Blue-Guard forms ionic compounds. These ionic Aqua Blue-Guard compete with the microbial enzyme system for hydrogen ions. The microbial enzyme system requires hydrogen ions to maintain its activity. When Aqua Blue-Guard competes with the enzyme system and combines with hydrogen ions, it causes the enzyme to be in an inactive oxidized state. Due to the lack of active enzymes in microorganisms, their physiological activities such as metabolism cannot be carried out normally, and thus they lose their viability, achieving the effect of sterilization and bacteriostasis.

Detoxification Mechanism:

Aqua Blue-Guard has both oxidizing and reducing properties. During the detoxification process, it uses its reducing property to reduce toxic substances such as nitrite, lowering their toxicity and thus playing a detoxification role.

Antiparasitic Mechanism:

Disruption of Parasite Membrane Function:

Aqua Blue-Guard, when in solution, can interact with the cell membranes of parasites. Its ionic form can penetrate the parasite’s membrane, altering the membrane’s permeability. This leads to an imbalance of ions and other substances inside and outside the parasite cell. As a result, the normal physiological functions of the parasite are disrupted, such as nutrient uptake and waste excretion, eventually causing the death of the parasite.

Interference with Parasite Enzyme Activity:

Parasites rely on a series of enzymes for their metabolic processes and survival. Aqua Blue-Guard can bind to certain key enzymes of parasites. Similar to its action on microorganisms, it competes with the enzyme system for essential cofactors or substrates, such as hydrogen ions. When Aqua Blue-Guard binds to these enzymes, the enzymes lose their activity or their activity is significantly inhibited. Consequently, the metabolic pathways of the parasites are blocked, preventing them from growing, reproducing, and infecting host organisms.

Oxidative Stress Induction:

Aqua Blue-Guard has the property of participating in redox reactions. In the presence of Aqua Blue-Guard, an increase in oxidative stress can occur within the parasite cells. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) may be generated or the normal balance of the antioxidant defense system in the parasites may be disrupted. Excessive ROS can damage various cellular components of the parasites, including proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. This damage accumulates over time, leading to the impairment of the parasite’s vital functions and ultimately its elimination from the host or the aquatic environment.

This product is applicable to various freshwater and marine aquaculture systems, including fish ponds, shrimp ponds, crab ponds, and ornamental fish breeding.
