Diclazuril premix is a potent anticoccidial veterinary drug primarily used to prevent and treat coccidiosis in poultry and other livestock, with high efficacy against Eimeria species.

Main ingredient: Diclazuril

Appearance: Light yellow powder or off-white powder.

Indications

It is mainly indicated for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria species in target animals, with specific applications as follows:

Poultry: Effective against Eimeria tenella, Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria maxima, and other common Eimeria species that cause chicken coccidiosis. It can reduce intestinal damage, improve feed conversion rate, and lower mortality.

Livestock: Used for coccidiosis in calves, lambs, and goats, targeting pathogenic Eimeria species (e.g., Eimeria bovis, Eimeria zuernii in calves) to alleviate symptoms like diarrhea and weight loss.

Target Animals

Diclazuril premix is approved for use in specific livestock and poultry species.

Animal CategoryCommon Target SpeciesKey Notes
PoultryBroilers, layers, turkeysMost widely used in broiler chickens
 (for fast growth cycle)
RuminantsCalves, lambs, goatsMainly for young animals
(high susceptibility to coccidiosis)
OthersRabbitsApproved in some regions
for rabbit coccidiosis control

Pharmacological action: Antiprotozoa.

It is trigines, could inhibit or exterminate spores of aquatic.

Clinical Test

Clinical tests focus on verifying efficacy, safety, and residue levels, with core elements including:

Efficacy Evaluation:

Compare the incidence of coccidiosis (e.g., diarrhea, oocyst count in feces),

mortality, and weight gain between the drug-administered group and the control group. A significant reduction in oocyst excretion and symptom relief indicates effective control.

Safety Assessment:

Test target animals with doses 1–3 times the recommended dosage to observe acute/chronic toxicity (e.g., abnormal behavior, organ lesions). Ensure no adverse effects on growth or reproduction.

Residue Detection:

Determine the drug residue concentration in edible tissues (muscle, liver, kidney) at different time points after drug withdrawal. Confirm that residues meet national/regional food safety standards (e.g., EU, FDA, or local veterinary drug regulations) before animals are slaughtered for food.

Dosage

Dosage is calculated based on the diclazuril active ingredient and adjusted by animal species; mix uniformly with feed for administration:

Chickens: Add 100–200 g of 1% diclazuril premix to 1000 kg of feed. Administer continuously for 5–7 days for prevention (start at 1–2 weeks of age) or treatment (start at the onset of symptoms).

Calves/Lambs: Add 200–300 g of 1% diclazuril premix to 1000 kg of feed. Administer continuously for 7–10 days, starting when coccidiosis risk is high (e.g., after weaning) or at the first sign of infection.

Note: Adjust dosage according to the severity of coccidiosis, animal age, and local veterinary drug guidelines. Avoid sudden stopping drug (drug withdrawal) to prevent recurrence.

Precautions: The medicine should be thoroughly mixed.

Withdraw period: 500 degree-day

Storage: Keep in a closed, dry and out of light place.

Package: 25kg/bag
