Indications

For the treatment of bacterial infections in livestock (cattle, pigs, sheep) and poultry (chickens, ducks) caused by ceftiofur-sensitive pathogens, including but not limited to:

Livestock (Cattle, Pigs, Sheep)

Respiratory tract infections (RTIs):

Caused by Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somni (cattle) or Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Streptococcus suis (pigs).

Reproductive system infections:

Metritis (uterine inflammation) in cows/sows, mastitis (mild cases) in dairy cows, and epididymitis in rams.

Skin & soft tissue infections:

Abscesses, wound infections, and cellulitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli.

Systemic infections:

Septicemia (bloodstream infections) and bacterial diarrhea (associated with enterotoxigenic E. coli) in neonatal calves/piglets.

Poultry (Chickens, Ducks)

Omphalitis (umbilical inflammation) in chicks/ducklings caused by E. coli or Staphylococcus spp.

Infectious coryza in chickens (caused by Haemophilus paragallinarum) and duck septicemia (caused by Riemerella anatipestifer).

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration

Dosages are based on ceftiofur content (mg/kg body weight); adjust injection volume according to formulation (1% = 10 mg/mL; 5% = 50 mg/mL).

Clinical Trial Data

Clinical efficacy has been validated in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) across target animal species:

Cattle Respiratory Infections (n=240 Feedlot Cattle)

Study Design:

Cattle with RTIs (confirmed by M. haemolytica/P. multocida culture) were divided into 3 groups: 1% ceftiofur (2.2 mg/kg), 5% ceftiofur (2.2 mg/kg), and untreated control.

Results:

Cure rate: 89% (1% group) and 91% (5% group) vs. 32% (control) after 5 days.

Temperature normalization: 90% of treated cattle had normal body temperature (<39.5°C) by Day 3, vs. 45% in control.

Piglet Neonatal Septicemia (n=180 Piglets, 1–3 Days Old)

Study Design: Piglets with septicemia (culture-positive for E. coli) received 1% ceftiofur (1.1 mg/kg) or placebo for 3 days.

Results:

Survival rate: 85% (ceftiofur group) vs. 42% (placebo group).

Clinical improvement: 90% of treated piglets showed normal feeding and activity by Day 2, vs. 35% in placebo.

Chicken Omphalitis (n=300 Chicks, 1 Day Old)

Study Design: Chicks with omphalitis (culture-positive for E. coli) received 5% ceftiofur (1 mg/kg) or no treatment for 3 days.

Results:

Cure rate: 88% (ceftiofur group) vs. 29% (control).

Weight gain: Treated chicks had a 15% higher average weight at Day 7 vs. control.

Storage: Store at 2°C – 25°C (35.6°F – 77°F).

Packing: 100ml/bottle×60bottles/carton
